Of honorable mention for the success of the series are Sandiway Fong - a key factor in route creation and scouting. Sanidway is a veteran BMB and brevet rider who lives in Princeton - home of the series. You can meet him on the training rides and the 200K.

5BBC volunteers, who you will meet at controles and en route, have extensive experience. The 5BBC (Five Borough Bicycle Club) provides many volunteers for the Bike New York ride - held the first Sunday in May annually. Anyone interested in becoming a front line marshall for Bike New York may contact me.

David Jordan, Boston Regional Brevet Administrator, has directed me along the way showing me organizational procedures and giving much invaluable advice. David may join us on the 200K.

You can anticipate a full series (200, 300, 400 and 600K) in 2003 - which is a Paris-Brest-Paris year.

New Jersey - new randonneuring territory - offers challenging and scenic roads - resembling New England in many ways. There has been a consistent interest for randonneuring in the NY, NJ and PA area and we will promote this style riding and create new cycling friendships.

The 200 and 300K cover Central New Jersey - but this will change on the 400 and 600K. For 2003, we may even ride a bit through Pennsylvania. We may turn the Montauk Century into a "double-back" 200K for those seeking brevet milage.

Every completed brevet offers the chance to order a medal through the Audax Club Parisien (our parent club) in France.

Check the RUSA website for other brevet series'. I highly recommend David Jordan's Boston series and Don Podolski's Berkshire series. Don's series includes a 200, 300 and 400 which is incredibly scenic. Dave's is the largest and best for training (a full series) and meeting most of the Boston-Montreal-Boston riders.
